Welcome to Clipper Country!!!
Welcome to Clipper Country!!! This is a place to talk basketball, specifically Los Angeles Clippers Basketball. So to start first I will tell you a little about my self. I have been a Clippers fan for about ten years now. I first started really liking the Clippers during the 2000-2001 season when they had the high flyers Darius Miles, Lamar Odom, Corey Maggette and Quentin Richardson. They were young, athletic and really fun to watch. Their record wasn’t great (31-51) but the youth and energy of the team got me really excited about them. It’s funny to look back and think who the coach was that year for the Clippers, Alvin Gentry. He is the current interim head coach for the Phoenix Suns. He runs an exciting up tempo offense that would make any person excited about the team he was coaching. So that’s how the Clippers secured me as a fan. And the fact that being from Los Angeles I hated all the LA Lakers front runner fans. Everyone is LA likes the Lakers even if they don’t know anything about basketball because they win and that doesn’t sit well with me because I HATE FRONT RUNNERS!!! If you know nothing at all about basketball don’t claim to be a Lakers fan! Kind of similar with the USC fans, everyone is jumping on that bandwagon right now to because of their success with the football team. So what I hope is that USC Football and the LA Lakers lose every game for about three years and then I want to see how many “fans” they really have left. Believe me, about half of their “fans” wouldn’t claim to be Lakers fans anymore. They would just say, “I don’t really follow basketball so I don’t have a favorite team.” And this would make me so happy to see everyone jump off these Southern California bandwagon team. It has already started to happen with the Raiders. It’s funny to see, the bandwagoners jumping off the Raiders to the Chargers because the Chargers are good now and the Raiders have been bad for a few years. The Raiders just went to the Super Bowl in 2003 so it shows you how loyal most LA fans really are. They jump off a team after not making it to the playoffs for a few years. So the moral of the story for this first blog is if you like a team because they are winning fine, but don’t jump off them when they start losing. Be a loyal fan because you love the team not just because you love their record. Stay loyal my friends. Go Clips!!!!
